Getting there

Beruwala is a lovely fishing town about 60 KM from the Capital City Colombo (See map on right). A relaxed leisurely drive will take you there in 2.0 hours. Public Transport is readily available in this major route linking Colombo to the southern towns.

If you leave Colombo around 6.00 AM, a day trip to Beruwala for diving is an easy possibility.

Flying to Sri Lanka: The only International Airport in Sri Lanka is the Bandaranaike International Airport situated about 30 KM north of Colombo.

Dive Operators

- Ypsylon Dive Center is located at the Ypsylon hotel in Moragalla, Beruwala. From Colombo take Galle Road towards Galle/Matara. When you come to Beruwala you will see signs for the dive center after which you have to take a right turn at one point.
- The dive centers in Bentota also make a 1/2 hour boat trip to access the Beruwala dive sites too.

The diving season is November through May but Ypsylon offers all year diving. The conditions from May to October could be tough and only recommended for experienced divers.
