A high point just near the shores of Hikkaduwa

Depth: 18 Meters.

The Oval Table at Sunil Gala looks man made

These two are not together by choice! They are being swept by surge!

This is an interesting multi-level rock complex spread over a large area located south of the Coral Gardens boulders and close to shore. From an depth of about 18 Meters to about 4 Meters, you would find rocky boulders of interesting shapes and also some pinnacles. Hanging around at the shallower depths on top of the pinnacles can be very challenging because of the relentless surge because of the close proximity to shore. However the fish life here is very interesting too. You would find a multitude of reef fish such Angelfish, Boxfish & Surgeonfish getting swished away uncontrollably inside long crevices. If you manage to get a good hold (which is very difficult too do with two fingers while making sure that you don't harm any coral) its a treat to see the fish get wash away and come back at you at great speed! You may also spot interesting Nudibranchs and Flatworms here now and then.
