Dive The Knife Rock (www.DiveSriLanka.com)
Nilavali, Trincomalee
By Dharshana Jayawardena.

Depth: 15 Meters.

The Knife Rock is just south of Pigeon Island. For us, this site has always beheld an aura of eerieness; an unexplained dark quality which exudes gloom and mystery. Adding to this effect are what appears to be two long rocky man made slabs lying on the sea bed and the blurred silvery reflections of pelagics lurking afar.

The Big Hat of the Knife Rock.

Beautiful clusters of Neat Table Coral are rife and bound at Knife Rock

Mushroom soft Coral.

Divers peer into the gloom in search of large pelagics that lurk behind the rocks. Large Groupers are frequently sighted at Knife Rock

The beautiful strands of a Magnificent Sea Anemone.

Sea Cucumber on it's slow march across the sandy sea bed

A Tube Worm feeding in the warm currents.

The big patch of soft coral feeds various reef fish.

A flurry of bubbles from a diver make it's way towards the sun light.

That Zen moment just after surfacing from a dive.
