	The beaches of Negombo are beautiful! It's not too far from Colombo either. Just 35 Km or an hour and a half away. The stretch of beach or the "strip" is located just a few miles north of the Negombo town. For many reasons we really love this place. It's spotlessly clean, has a well maintained road leading to all the major hotels in the area and really FUN diving! If someone asks us to put our Negombo experiences in a nutshell, we'll say "Raining Fish!". The dive locations in Negombo are segregated into two locations. The closer dive sites about 5 to 8 Km away from the shore and the further "third" reef (about 22 Km away). The Third Reef - The Last Frontier Good things are hard to get. For the best diving in Negombo visit the beautiful Third Reef 22 KM into deep sea from where no land can be seen. The closer dive sites (Second Reef).

Lobster Reef	Reef Fish	16M	30 Min	Excellent	A cluster of rocky boulders forming a long reef. Abundant fishlife from small things such as Nudibranchs to occasional big animal action in the form of a Ray
Standard Reef	Reef Fish	15M	40 Min	Good	A reef patch that starts shallow at 11M and descends to 15M at the sandy outer areas. A busy city of fish life.
Ahas Yatra Gala	Reef Fish	15M	45 Min	Good	Remnants of a World War II Fighter Aircraft that lies alongside another natural reef mound. Great fishlife
Bandara Rock	Reef Fish	15 M	20 Min	Good	Quite a fun dive site. The coral is rather drab but lots of fish such as Sweetlips, Lionfish (including a albino species), Scorpionfish, Morays and Sting Rays of various sizes.
Barracuda Point	Reef Fish	15 M	20 Min	Good	Again a fun site with Predatory Cardinalfish, Lionfish, an occasional Grouper, Star Fish, and Sting Rays. Click here for pictures.
Hanova	Reef Fish	15 M	20 Min	Excellent.	A lovely dive site despite the abundance of abandoned fish nets! Snappers, Cuttlefish, Bullseyes (Glass Fish), Sweetlips, Groupers. Sometimes the visibility is bad because there are so many of these Bullseye dudes around. Carry a torch even during the day time. You can "conduct" the Bullseye school with a wave of your torch! Adams Peak	Fish	15 M	25 Min	Good	Not a spectacular site in terms of natural formations and coral. But really rich in fish. Click here for pictures and other information.
Route 66	Reef Fish	15 M	25 min	Excellent	Route 66 is a oceanic highway heading North West. Sticking to the speed limit is recommended due to heavy traffic. Click here for pictures.
